Plaza Suite 2011
Plaza Suite by Neil Simon.
One of Neil Simon’s most popular and celebrated plays, Plaza Suite details the misadventures of three very different couples facing crucial moments in their lives – all set in the same room in New York’s world-famous Plaza Hotel. The play featured sassy, snappy, sardonic one-liners that characterise the best of Simon’s stage work. Plaza Suite is usually played with a single cast doubling up in each of the mini-dramas. Rough Magic, however, used three separate casts, giving an opportunity to some of Ireland’s finest actors to indulge themselves in Simon’s clever verbal sparring and visual slapstick. Rough Magic used three directors for each of the acts – Sophie Motley, Aoife Spillane-Hicks and Matt Torney.
